Hawaii

I know you are all anxious to hear about my trip to the Hawaiian Islands and I am excited to share it with you. However I have lots and lots of photos still to sort out and with the move across the country I have gotten a little behind. I plan to share more photos and my story in April.

In the meantime there is an excellent write up from the executives of CTMH complete with pictures (even one of me) on Jeanette's Blog. So please take a look & read!

Stella Layouts

I had showed these layouts in my "All about 70s" post but didn't have the pictures added. Here are the completed layouts with photos and titles.

Workshop On The Go Layouts
The Workshop kit includes a full paper pack with instructions for the layout below. Using the Imagine How-To program I got the second layout instructions from page 29.

I created the Title to look like the Cellars No 8 Wine Bottle of this winery we visited. I used some chipboard numbers and cricut cut shapes that I stamped.

For the second layout you'll also need to cut Cocoa stitch zip strip into three segments as follows: 1 1/4", 1 3/4", and 2 1/2". Next stamp title with Cocoa ink; punch out each letter with 1 1/4" circle punch.

Stamp lampshade image once with Lagoon ink and second-generation, once with Sunset ink, and once with Sunset ink and second-generation on 1 1/2" × 6" Colonial White accent. Stamp the four lampshade sections with Lagoon ink on the Lagoon lampshade and on first Sunset lampshade; stamp lampshade sections with Sunset ink on second-generation Sunset lampshade. Trim. For dimension, score stamped lampshades between the four lampshade sections.

Cover three small Dimensional Elements hearts with 1" × 3" Sunset accent; trim. Sponge photos, base pages, all pattern pieces, and all cut-out pieces with Cocoa ink. Add journaling.

Stamp border image with Cocoa ink on base above A and D. Attach cut-out accents and embellishments.
Canvas Complement Layouts
Simply add on these canvas shapes and then using the idea book and the Imagine book again (pg 23) I created these layouts. Some of the shapes I distressed a little and used 3D foam tape. Lastly I finished up my Bohemian Assortment.

Easter Blog Hop

Welcome to this Easter Blog Hop. If you are coming from Gill's Blog you are right on track.

I created this Easter card with the retired Wings paper pack. I then used the A Tulip stamp to create the accent that I cut out and attached with 3D foam tape. The card base was also stamped in Juniper ink with the border stamp. I created a faux button with the stamp and juniper cardstock. All the papers were distressed in juniper ink.

Here are some other amazing creations from Close To My Heart which are perfect for this Easter and Spring. Enjoy!

Let's get started.
Today I am showcasing some older papers: Miracle and Notebook in the Magic Layout "Now You See It" on pg 22. If you have the book you'll notice this is a VERY similar layout but I swtiched out a few colors to make it more girl friendly.
In the upper right page I created a cluster of chipboard embellishments. The arrow is just sponged. The large circle tag is sponged and I drew in stitching. The stars are both covered in paper and a metal flower brad was added last along with the Hollyhock Ribbon.
I used the same ribbon here and used up what was left of some tiny tabs I had. The photo will slip into them and cover a portion of the star.
The letters were stamped and trimmed and added with 3D foam tape about a chipboard flourish that I covered in B&T paper. I added the ribbon and similar circles and stars from the rest of the layout.

Now hop on over to Joy's Blog for more ideas of using up your stash.

M.I.A.

So sorry to have been missing the last few days. For some reason blogger is not registering my posts and since I am traveling I can't fix them.

So instead I will tell you a little about my trip. We are on our way from Bremerton WA to Joliet IL for a wedding this weekend. We spent St Patricks day with Jason on the East side of the Sound at an Irish pub.

The girls even got gold from a lauperchaun but wouldn't show it to the camera.

We spent a whole day to get through Montana where it was very cold but pretty. Lots of snow.

After seeing all the mountains the girls asked to climb one. I found a little hill they could climb in WY.

In SD now and still going :)

Studio J Tip: Replacing Paper Colors

Have you ever tried to change just one piece of paper on the layout and got frustrated when all of that type changed. Well here is how to change a single piece to a different color without changing all the papers. Create a text box and edit the text to just be a space. Then rezise the box to cover the exact peice you want to change the color. Choose the color paper or pattern you want and set the text box. You may need to right click on the text box to move it to the back so it doesn't block other elements on the page. Zoom in to 400% to ensure you lines the box up perfectly! Here are some video instructions.

Travel Card Box & Cards

This case I got off Pinterest designed by Christina Eisenhour. I thought it was adorable!
It fits four cards. This is the link to the instructions off Splitcoast Stampers.
I cut my card bases using the Art Philosophy Cartridge in White Daisy cardstock.
I also used the coordinating shapes cut at 1/4" smaller in Chocolate and the Footloose B&T.
I stamped my four images using the multi-color technique. This technique is where you start with the lightest color first. Ink up your entire stamp in this color. Then using a sponge dauber you add the darker ink to the stamp before stamping it on your paper.
Trim the images.
Use 3D foam tape to add the images to the matted paper on your cards. Lastly I added some matching baker's twine to the top of the card.
Here are all 4 cards:
Thanks for looking :)
