Happy Holidays!

HAPPY
SCRAPPIN'
SQUAD

Wishing you a VERY

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Twas the night before Christmas,
And all through the home,
Only one creature was stirring,
A late night scrapper-alone.

While she cropped and she trimmed,
Under her breath she was muttering,
"He hid my darn cricut",
The poor woman was stuttering!

When out on the lawn,
there arose such a clatter,
She sprang from her desk,
To see what was the matter!

Away to the window
She flew like a flash
Thinking it was Fed Ex
With her holiday stash!

But what to her wandering eyes
Should appear
But a miniature sleigh
And eight paper pieced reindeer!

With a little old driver
So lively and quick
She knew right away
It was Jeanette St. Nick

She carried a sack
Filled up to the brim
With embellishments, cardstock
And WOTG’s crammed in.

There were albums, and stickease
And chipboard galore
There was even a Cricut cartridge
Not found in a store!

She went quickly to work
Storing it all under the tree
The storage totes, and ribbon
And all acid free!

"Why is paper so heavy?"
She heard her exclaim
Then she turned to her reindeer
And called them by name:

“On Brian, On Sheena,
On Scrapper, on Cropper,
on Christine On Monica
On Trimmer, On Cutter"

And she sprang to her sleigh
But before she could leave,
The woman yelled "STOP",
And pulled a camera from her sleeve.

She snapped some quick photos
For a future keepsake,
Thinking all the while,
Of the layout she'd make!

She heard her exclaim,
When she finally let go,
"Happy Scrappin' to All"
And to all,  "HO HO HO"

December Technique Hop

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop! This month there are 7 of us highlighting the “Stitching” Technique as shown in the Fall/Winter 2012 Idea Book! This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous artwork incorporating this technique.

If you are coming from Joy's Blog, you are on the right track!I created this saddle stitched card, inspired by Pinterest and the Dakota Paper.

I cut a section of chocolate paper and laid it over a Daisy White card. I used the cricut to cut the black  frame. I added two gold big brads and the patch from the Wrangler Assortment.

Lastly I used the piercing tool to create the holes and waxy flax to sew around the edges. I won't lie, it took forever.

Thanks for stopping by! Please continue onto Judy Faye's Blog where you will find some additional artwork highlighting this technique! Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!
