Use Your Stash Blog Hop - Embossing Powder

If you are joining us for the "Use Your Stash Blog Hop" for September then you are right on track. WELCOME! You should be coming from Joy's Blog.
There are 6 participants this month. If you get lost along the way you can see the entire list of hoppers at the bottom of this post. Let's get started.
Today I am using up some of my gold, green, and clear embossing powders. I choose the September Stamp of the Month because I love it and it is only $5! I also used the Florentine Paper:
To begin embossing, you will need a pigment ink or versamark, your stamps & blocks, a craft heater, embossing powders, and a Craft Tray (currently on sale for only $3!)
Once you have stamped your image (in this photo I used the Versamark Clear Ink), then you will pour on your powder. I used gold here. Using the craft tray you can pour the excess powder back into the bottle.
Using your craft heater, heat the image throughly.
Here the image is ready to be colored. I found that when using the alcohol markers, they work way better using an embossed outline.
Here I repeated the process for the green powder.
For the last image I used some chocolate pigment ink to ink up my stamp and then used the clear embossing powder.
I then colored in the images with the new markers and added some burlap as a bow.

Now hop on over to Wendy's Blog for more ideas of using up your stash.

  2. I also like the use of the gold on this, gives is a more seasonal feel than I think other colors would have done.
