Meet the Texas Tenors!
Guess who will provide entertainment at Close To My Heart's Convention this year? The Texas Tenors!
The
Texas Tenors is a trio composed of Marcus Collins, who has a track
record in musical theater as well as acting; JC Fisher, a seasoned opera
singer; and John Hagen, the winner of various awards and accolades for
operatic performance who has also lent his voice to Broadway. These
three men bring a wealth of musical expertise, both in theory and
application.
The
threesome’s rise to fame and stardom is something of a Cinderella
story. Each man was struggling financially before deciding to work
together under the title of something they love: the Lone Star State.
These talented troubadours came together in 2009 to audition for “America’s Got Talent”
and made it to the finals of the show’s fourth season. Since then, they
have performed together worldwide, entertaining audiences on both sides
of the pond. Their debut album, “Country Roots — Classical Sound,” is the lone album to have topped the charts for CD Baby’s Classical as well as Country categories.
Styles
we are tempted to think of as clashing are melded together in a
flavorful stew of euphonious enjoyment. At a Texas Tenors concert,
you’ll hear anything from John Denver, to Frank Sinatra, to Puccini, to
Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim. These crooning cowboys bring
together and win over disparate audiences, and have been known to make a
country fan out of an opera lover and vice versa. And they’re not bad
to look at, either.
Just
when you thought Convention couldn’t get any more exciting, we throw in
world-class entertainers who’ve got something for everyone. The Texas
Tenors will add the perfect flair to our Texas Convention! Don’t miss
your chance to see the Texas Tenors live!
